This class is ideal for beginners and returning students looking to refresh their skills and gain greater control in their craft.

UNLEASH YOUR CREATIVITY
Immerse yourself in a unique opportunity to create a beautiful basket using recycled crab fishing rope. Under the expert guidance of Susan Spence, the talented Beach Basket creator and artist, you will receive hands-on instruction and all necessary materials.

SCENIC WORKSHOP SETTING
Our small, welcoming classes take place in the Marie Powell Gallery and Workshop, where you can enjoy stunning views of the Port of Ilwaco and the Ilwaco fishing fleet. Connect with our maritime surroundings as you tap into your creativity.

HEAD START
If you would like to review a basic single crochet stitch (the stitch we use for our baskets) go to you tube and search for 'beginner single crochet stitch'. It isn’t necessary but it will make things a bit easier. If you have a stick, your own rope or anything you would like to incorporate please bring it along.

PLEASE NOTE:
Making baskets is strenuous on the hands.
Instruction is given for right handers (I just can’t seem to reverse the process).
A non-compete is required.
Payment is due upon signup.
